This fifth installment in the series
(only the fourth time Michael was the storyline) was
released, rather rushed, to theaters October 13, 1989.
Once again, Trancas Films produced the picture with the
surname Magnum Pictures. Halloween 5 was released by CBS/FOX on videocassette and laserdisc on March 3, 1990. The laserdisc was only available in Pan and Scan. Anchor Bay Entertainment released a limited edition of the film in 2000, featuring interviews with the cast and crew.
HALLOWEEN 5 was filmed at the 1.85:1 aspect ratio. In its box office run, it brought in almost $12 million total in the U.S. on a budget of less than $5 million.
