Trancas International was founded in 1977 by Producer/Director Moustapha Akkad, and has developed into a vibrant company which focuses on the synergy between its different divisions to support a diverse media business.

The company has over 25 years experience in the industry, and more than two dozen feature credits, including the Academy Award nominated The Message, starring Anthony Quinn and Irene Papas; the World War II epic, Lion of the Desert, starring Anthony Quinn, Oliver Reed, Rod Steiger and Sir John Gielgud; and the widely-popular horror franchise, Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence.

Over the last decade, Trancas International has broadened its reach into all aspects of the entertainment business. The company has offices in Hollywood and London, and operates Twickenham Film Studios in the UK. Its operating units include: Trancas International Films, Inc., Compass International Pictures, Inc., and Tring Entertainments, Ltd. The divisions of Trancas International are comprised of Film Production & Distribution, Television Production, Talent & Literary Management, Merchandising, Product Placement, Internet Development, and Studio Management.
